Hospitals, cancer institutes and institutions across the country run their own Hair for Hope donation drives — from the Philippine General Hospital and St. Luke’s to MakatiMed, The Medical City, UERM and all the way to Iloilo.
This October: “Share a Hair” — Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2026 with the Augusto P. Can I donate?
If you're thinking about a big cut — make it count.
Most healthy, well-cared-for hair from 14 inches can be donated. Not sure whether yours qualifies? Message us or ask at your appointment — we will always tell you honestly before we cut.
The donation cut is ₱1,200 — a haircut by a HEADS professional stylist, and your contribution to what happens next: every donation is cleaned, sorted by quality and strand health, washed, drawn to length, hackled and bundled before it can become part of a wig. Donate 18 inches (about 46 cm) or more and your haircut is free.
Already had your hair cut elsewhere? Sending it to us is completely free — we never charge to receive a mailed-in donation. The ₱1,200 covers only the donation cut done for you in the HEADS salon by our stylist.

What makes hair usable
Not every ponytail can become a wig.
Here is what we look for — and why. If you are unsure, send us a photo before your appointment. We will tell you honestly, and we would rather say no than waste your cut.
- Length — from 14 inches (35 cm), measured after the cut. Hair is shortened again when it is drawn to length and the ends are evened out, so a ponytail that measures 14 inches while still attached usually finishes shorter. From 18 inches (46 cm) your cut is free.
- Tied and cut in one bundle. Loose hair cannot be used. The bundle has to keep every strand pointing the same way, root end to root end. Once root and tip directions are mixed, the cuticles work against each other, the hair tangles permanently and the piece can never be combed smooth. This is the most common reason a donation has to be turned away — and it is why the cut belongs in our chair.
- Clean and completely dry on the day. Freshly washed, no conditioner residue, no product, no oil. Damp hair packed for transport develops mildew within days and is lost.
- Healthy along the whole length. Split, brittle or heavily broken ends drop out during hackling. A ponytail that is beautiful at the roots and frayed at the last four inches loses exactly those four inches.
- Colour, perm, rebond, relaxer and curls are all welcome. Treated hair is sorted and matched differently, but it is used. Only hair bleached to the point of stretching or snapping when wet cannot be worked.
- Grey hair is welcome — it is rare and valuable.
- What we cannot use: hair swept from the floor, hair collected from a brush, dreadlocks, and hair shorter than 14 inches.
What your ₱1,200 covers: the haircut itself by a HEADS stylist, then sorting by quality and strand health, cleaning, length drawing so every strand runs root to tip, detangling and hackling, and bundling for the atelier.

HEADS donates finished wigs to those in need — in collaboration with Alopecia Philippines and major hospitals across the Philippines, with a Memorandum of Understanding with Makati Medical Center and partnerships with Asian Hospital, UP Manila, ADMU and more — plus donation drives held with the Philippine General Hospital, St. Luke’s Medical Center, The Medical City, UERM, Healthway QualiMed Iloilo, the Calamba Cancer Center and other institutions across the country. Every nine quality-passed hair bundles become one finished wig for a patient in need. You can follow the donations on our social channels and those of our donors.

You don’t have to wait for a donation.
Many people find this page while looking for something else — hair for themselves, or for someone they love. Donated wigs reach patients through our hospital partners, and the wait can be long. If you need hair sooner, the same atelier that makes those wigs makes pieces for private clients too.

Does the donation cut cost anything?
Yes — ₱1,200. It covers your haircut by a HEADS professional stylist and the careful processing of your donation: cleaning, sorting by quality and strand health, washing, drawing to length, hackling and bundling. If you donate 18 inches or longer, your haircut is free. You can book straight from this page.
How long does my hair need to be?
At least 14 inches (about 35 cm) from where we cut. If you're close but not sure, message us — we'll measure honestly before anything is cut.
Can coloured or treated hair be donated?
Yes — coloured, treated, bleached, rebonded and curly hair are all accepted, as long as the donation is at least 14 inches and the hair is healthy.
Who receives the wigs?
People in need across the Philippine hair-loss and alopecia community — through our collaboration with Alopecia Philippines and partner hospitals, including Makati Medical Center under a Memorandum of Understanding.
